April 11th 2005. The first Heritage Hotel in Afghanistan opens in historic city of Kabul with a mission of uncompromised personalized service to visitors to Kabul. The Hotel positions itself as an up-market property with prime emphasis to showcase the heritage and culture of Afghanistan.
Comprising of many provinces, Afghanistan is a country of diverse ethnic tribes with each tribe contributing its unique tradition and culture to this great country. This composition of Afghanistan has defied even the imaginations of the most curious and investigative of anthropologists.
Historically, Heetal is a hamlet in the province of the erstwhile Badakhshan, now called Yaftal in the north east of Afghanistan known traditionally for their warm hospitality and valor. In Yaftal, the visiting guest would get a cordial reception from the host and would be invited to the Khuskhana.
Residents of the entire neighborhood, village and the province would accord a warm welcome and celebrate the arrival of the guest with recitals of poetry and stories of valor and would repeatedly reminisce the stories of the past with utmost pride about the heroes of the bygone times. The following day in the morning, the residents and the guest would congregate for prayers and go to their work and meet again for breakfast. This cycle of warm and genuine hospitality would continue till the guest bid good bye to the host.
To revisit this great tradition of warm hospitality, the Heetal group has launched its first eco-friendly boutique Hotel The Heetal Plaza with forty heritage rooms and suites. To reinforce the theme of this heritage boutique Hotel, we have appointed each room and suite with the finest of ethnic furnishing and dicor which is in line with Afghanistans true traditions inspired by the work of local artists.
Ethnicity, at The Heetal Plaza Hotel, blends perfectly with contemporary design and amenities for the most discerning of guests. Chairman Jalaluddin Rabbanis dream project to contribute to the tourism industry of Afghanistan was conceived somewhere in last quarter of 2004 and he was personally involved right from its conceptualization through handing over the Hotel superstructure to his Management team.
The core Management team comprises of professional and trained line staff that will provide an everlasting and cherishable experience to the guests.
Keeping in mind the paucity of trained staff, the Heetal group also proposes to establish the first Hotel Management institute in the country that will provide trained manpower to the growing tourism industry of Afghanistan. This would not only enhance hospitality standards in the country but also provide employment opportunities to Afghan nationals and improve the economic prospects of the country.
